Tanker shipping boosts Luxembourg vessels on Dutch waterways
Luxembourg freight vessels carried more than 11 million tonnes of cargo on Dutch waterways in 2017, equivalent to 3% of total goods transport, up from 0.5% a decade earlier, according to Statistics Netherlands. Ninety per cent of vessels flying the Luxembourg flag operated in tanker shipping, carrying 10 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo.
