A new Logistics course unveiled: DIPLÔME DE TECHNICIEN EN LOGISTIQUE

A new secondary school course has been unveiled by the Minister for Education, Mr Claude Meisch and the general director of the Chamber of Commerce Luxembourg, Mr Carlo Thelen, on March 25th 2015. The Diplôme de Technicien en Logistique will allow students after a 9e technique or polyvalente to enter a new course dedicated to logistics. While the 10e will be identical to the Technicien en administration et gestion, the last three years will be dispensed in a dual system: two days in school and three days in a company. The Cluster for Logistics takes a central role in the course and holds the presidency of the workgroup. That way the Cluster plays its role as a facilitator between the involved companies and representatives of the ministry of education.

Minister Claude Meisch praised the cooperation between public and private actors in order to create an adequate school course. For Mr Carlo Thelen, president of the Cluster for Logistics, the sector is growing and needs this kind of training course, that includes practical and theoretical aspects.
