The Logistics Sector Opens up To you

The Supply Chain Day took place on April 10th. For the first time it can be described as a truly international day of action, with events in a total of 18 countries. In Luxembourg, IEE, Panalpina, Arthur Welter and CFL Multimodal/CFL cargo welcomed 130 persons in total over seven visits. A very good result for a first event, which is to be reiterated next year if the public and the companies are up to it.  The Supply Chain Day 2015 will take place on April 16th, which again is the third Thursday in April. The Cluster thanks all the companies and the participating staff for their invaluable support in organizing these visits.

In total over 400 events are organised in Europe. Alongside Germany, Austria and Hungary, the countries with the widest range of events are France and Luxembourg. But 2014 also saw the participation of companies in Turkey, China, the Czech Republic, Finland, Greece, Lithuania, Mongolia, Russia, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. This high level of involvement throughout Europe is due not least to the efforts of the European Logistics Association (ELA), who for the first time launched a wide-ranging campaign to encourage its members to take part in the day of action.

Supply Chain Day gives companies and organisations the chance to make the public aware of these services. Visitors can experience logistics for themselves and gain a better understanding of the industry. Last but not least, newcomers and lateral entrants can discover the diverse job opportunities in logistics and supply chain management.
