C4L supports luxembourg at transportlogistic exhibition in munich

The Cluster supports the Logistics Sector in Munich and participated on one of the two common stands organized by the ministry of Economy. Over twenty companies from Luxembourg and associations were present on their own stands or on one of the common stands in order to meet fellow specialists in this very international fair. The ministry of Sustainable development showed its support of the sector: Minister François Bausch met every national participant of the fair. The newly appointed Cluster Manager Malik Zeniti took the opportunity to meet the national Logistics actors. The feedback was positive as many stakeholders and decision-takers are present in Munich.

The conference takes place every two years and can be considered as the most important meeting for the community in Europe. The 15th International Trade Fair for Logistics, Mobility, IT and Supply Chain Management has concluded with growth in both exhibitors and visitors. More than 55,000 visitors (2013:52,308) from 124 countries and 2,050 (2,013:2013) exhibitors from 62 countries showcased the world of logistics on the Messe München exhibition site.

In order to faciltate networking, the Cluster organised a dinner in Munich for the particpating companies and their clients. Around 80 people were present at the Löwenbräukeller in Munich.

GDP compliant link between Findel and Hong Kong

Many companies took the opportunity to present their newest projects to the international press. Lux-Airport and Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals (HACTL) signed a memorandum of understanding on May 6th which creates a trade lane with Good Distribution Practice certification between Luxembourg and Hong Kong. At the Air Cargo Europe event in Munich, the two companies, along with Cargolux, Luxair Cargo and minister of Sustainable Development François Bausch, signed an agreement to promote the transport of pharmaceutical products in accordance with the European Union and World Health Organization GDP certification. The agreement is the first of its kind to ensure GDP compliance along the trade lane.

Cargolux offers new Product Portfolio and Trans-Pacific Services

Cargolux presented a range of new products at the Air Cargo Europe event in Munich on May 5th. With a focus on the specific needs and requirements of the industry, Cargolux introduced a portfolio of eight specialized products. CV Classic covers general cargo; CV Jumbo handles outsized and heavy freight; CV Power is dedicated to cars, engines and items such as helicopters; CV Hazmat deals with all classes of dangerous goods; CV Pharma serves the needs of the pharmaceutical industry; CV Fresh handles all kinds of perishables; CV Alive is dedicated to live animals and CV Precious covers artworks and valuable cargo.

Cargolux also announced that it has begun a twice-weekly Trans-Pacific service between the two cities in April, operated by the airlines advanced 747-8 freighters. “This new Trans-Pacific service from Zhengzhou is a milestone in the development of our Chinese operations and the cooperation with our partner HNCA,” says Dirk Reich, Cargolux President and CEO. “We are proud that our partnership is moving ahead so swiftly and successfully. Linking Zhengzhou to the Chicago market and beyond offers unique opportunities for shippers and manufacturers on both sides of the Pacific and we can happily say that the Cargolux service has been warmly welcomed by our customers in China and the US.” In China, Cargolux offers fast, scheduled road feeder services to 20 Chinese cities, linking Zhengzhou with major industrial and business centers. Cargolux also operates seven weekly frequencies between Luxembourg and Zhengzhou.
