The community meets again at TransportLogistic 2023
Divers

The logistics community was eager to meet again at the leading European logistics trade fair in Munich. Following the cancellation due to Covid-19 in 2021, more than 75,000 visitors from over 120 countries visited the fair between 9th and 12th May 2023; about 11,000 more than in 2019. Like every year, many Luxembourgish companies were part of the 2,320 exhibitors from 67 countries, either on personal stands or on the joint national stands.

Two Luxembourg booths, jointly organised by the Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of the Economy, presented key logistics service providers and internationally recognised players offering related services. In the Hall B1 reserved for Air Cargo Europe, the companies Arthur Welter Transports, Cargolux Airlines International, Cluster for Logistics, EDIfly, Global Airlift Solutions, LuxairCARGO and lux-Airport represented the Luxembourg air hub. The Hall B6 housed freight transport and logistics services with CFL multimodal, Cluster maritime, Luxport S.A. / Lorang Gruppe, Faymonville, Société du Port de Mertert S.A. and Transalliance Europe. The booth designs included a second floor for additional visibility and meeting space.

150 guests at the Luxembourg Logistics Night

It is now a tradition that the Cluster for Logistics organizes a large Brauhaus event in Munich for the exhibitors and their guests. This year again about 150 guests took part in the event at the Augustiner Stammhaus on May 10th 2023, together with HE Ambassador Jean-Paul Senninger, Luxembourg Ambassador in Germany.

After an intensive day at the fair, this event offered a relaxing networking opportunity for the delegation, with typical Bavarian music, food and beer.

Apprenticeship Day at Transport Logistic

On Friday, 12th May 2023, the Cluster for Logistics Luxembourg invited the students of the two final years from both high schools offering the Diplôme de Technicien (DT) en Logistique to the TransportLogistic fair.

In total 24 students and four teachers from the Lycée Technique de Lallange and the Lycée Technique de Bonnevoie participated. Eric Lambert and Ihssane Haiba, local experts teaching in the DT en Logistique program, guided the students through the halls at the fair.

Amongst others, the students visited both Luxembourgish stands, where for instance, CFL multimodal, Luxport Group, Transalliance, Cargolux, Arthur Welter, EDIfly and the Cluster for Logistics were present. Besides these national booths the student group also explored other international stands such as Ambrogio, the Medlink Ports and the stand of Schmitz-Cargobull.

The students were amazed by the multi-faceted fair, and they regretted that they did not have more time to explore certain areas in more depth.

The Cluster for Logistics Luxembourg first organized this visit in 2019. Given the success and the positive feedback, it was a must-do in 2023.  Visiting the TransportLogistic fair is a unique opportunity to see the diversity and scale of transport and logistics around the world all in one place. It is the perfect opportunity to further motivate and nourish the curiosity of soon to be graduates, who are about to enter the professional world.

We would like to thank Cargolux Airlines, Arthur Welter, Luxport Group, Transalliance, Astron Buildings, Edifly, Luxembourg Cargo Agency ll and CFL multimodal for sponsoring the Luxembourg Logistics Night and the Student visit.
