🌐 Geopolitics & Supply Chain Resilience: Strategic Insights from Luxembourg

Yesterday’s high-level event at KPMG Luxembourg, co-organized with Luxembourg Maritime Cluster (LMC) and the Cluster for Logistics Luxembourg - C4L, brought together public and private sector leaders to address the growing impact of geopolitical instability on global supply chains.

🗣️ Opening remarks by Yves Thorn, Partner at KPMG Luxembourg, set the tone: "In a world of shifting alliances and regulatory fragmentation, Luxembourg’s logistics and maritime sectors must remain agile, transparent, and forward-looking. Collaboration is our strongest asset."

📦 The keynote introduction by Daniel Kohl, Director of the Cluster for Logistics, framed the challenge: "Geopolitical tensions, trade wars, and regulatory divergence are no longer abstract risks, they are daily operational realities. Our supply chains must evolve from reactive to resilient, with visibility and governance at the core."

🔍 The panel explored:

Tariff barriers and their operational impact

Regulatory complexity across jurisdictions

Supplier steering and visibility tools for risk mitigation

Governance frameworks for resilient logistics

🎙️ Expert contributions from Yves Germeaux (FEDIL - The Voice of Luxembourg's Industry), Alexander Otto (@DSV), Samuel Fernandez, (Actarius Group), Bertrand MOHR (Britannia P&I Club) and Sebastian Heinker (KPMG Deutschland) and Ugo Platania (KPMG Luxembourg) enriched the discussion with actionable strategies and sector-specific insights.

Axelle Salvage of the Luxembourg Maritime Cluster presented the closing words to the guests.

👏 Thanks to all speakers and attendees to KPMG Luxembourg, Cluster Maritime Luxembourg and the Cluster for Logistics for driving this strategic dialogue forward. The event underscored Luxembourg’s role as a proactive hub for logistics and maritime innovation.
