I’m excited to highlight the ongoing work on smart urban freight solutions in the Commune of Differdange, driven by the NextLogic Horizon project led by the University of Luxembourg (Uni.lu) Francesco Viti and Laura Palacios

As cities continue to grow, the need for sustainable, data-driven, and integrated urban freight systems becomes increasingly critical. Through this initiative, Differdange is positioning itself as a living lab for innovation, exploring how logistics, mobility, and digital technologies can be seamlessly connected to improve everyday life for citizens.

🔍 Key focus areas include:

  • Smarter urban logistics and last-mile delivery solutions
  • Data-enabled traffic and mobility flow optimization
  • Integration of sustainable transport options
  • Enhancing collaboration between public authorities, academia, and industry
  • Electrification in urban freight

This collaboration is a great example of how research and real-world implementation can come together to shape resilient and future-ready cities. By combining local insights with cutting-edge research from Uni.lu, the project contributes to building efficient, greener, and smarter urban environments.

👏 A big thanks to all partners involved in pushing forward this important initiative.

Looking forward to seeing how Differdange continues to evolve as a benchmark for smart mobility in Europe.

35 partners from 13 EU countries, and you could also highlight the importance of having five Luxembourgish partners: City of Differdange, Cluster for Logistics, LuxMobility, LIST, UniLU. https://www.nextlogic-project.eu
